28 February - Day in History of India and Importance



National Science Day

1928 - Sir C.V.Raman published his famous 'Raman Effect' theory, which got him Nobel Prize.

1568 - Chittorgarh Fort was captured by Akbar.
1580 - First presence of a Jesuit Priest to Goa in the court of Akbar at Fatehpur Sikhri

1930 - C.V. Raman was awarded Nobel Prize for Physics for discovery of Raman Effect.
1937 - Subramanyan Chandrasekhar discovered the white dwarf maximum mass limit.
1950 - Setting up of Planning Commission announced.
1968 - Aurobindo Ashram was inaugurated.
1987 - National Science Day was celebrated for the first time at the ICMR headquarters
1998 - Third and Final phase of Lok Sabha Election for 131 constituencies held.
