1902 - Sir Ronald Ross was awarded Nobel Prize for discovering the cause of Malaria.
1907 - Rudyard Kipling author of "Jungle Book" received Nobel prize for literature.
1913 - Rabindranath Tagore was awarded Nobel Prize for literature.
1932 - Indian Military Academy was formally inaugurated.
1952 - World's First Official Family Planning program was started in India.
1967 - Earth quake hit Koyna Nagar.

1998 - Professor Amartya Sen won Noble Prize for Economics
